The scarab switch box

A small, Egyptian themed billet switch box that justifies its own presence and naturally lends itself to stories.

To the audience, the purpose of the box is to hold a small white ornamental pyramid.

The switch is executed by a gimmick that blends unseen, into the lid and the base of the box. It locks into place in both the starting and final position so that the moment of the switch is under your full control and easily built into your routine. In fact, the audience are likely to forget that the box was ever closed.

The box is small enough to perform in the hands or at a small table, and is examinable after the performance.

The switch allows for an appearance, disappearance, transformation, restoration, fortune telling and more.

The wooden box is hand assembled, painted and aged, with over 30 components.
External dimension:7cm x 7cm x 5.7cm high
Internal dimensions: 5.4cm x 5.4cm x 2.8cm

The ornamental pyramid is plaster cast and finished, with a black felt base, 4cm tall and cloth wrapped.

The whole box is cloth wrapped and includes an aged paper instruction sheet prop which gives no methods away.
